In Indiana, DUI charges are not limited to alcohol or illegal drugs. Criminal charges can also result when a person combines driving with intoxicating prescription medications.

Indiana law defines intoxication broadly,  and if the State can prove you were driving while intoxicated, it doesn’t matter how many doctor’s notes you can produce.

If, on the other hand, you merely had some Schedule I or Schedule II narcotics in your system, you might have a valid defense.
